JBX Series Belt Drive Upblast Exhaust Fans
Heavy-Duty Industrial Ventilation
Since 1948, Triangle Engineering has delivered high-performing ventilation solutions, backed by over 70 years of expertise. The JBX Series Belt Drive Upblast Roof Exhaust Fan expands on our legacy of industrially robust, all-welded steel construction and high-efficiency cast aluminum airfoil propellers. Designed for commercial or industrial applications, these fans range from 24″ to 84″ in diameter, offering excellent airflow capacity in a heavy duty roof-mounted exhaust solution.
Unlike belt-drive fans with motors inside the airstream, the JBX Series upblast exhaust fan places the motor, shaft, belt, bearings, and sheaves outside the airflow path. This design guards critical components against moisture or contaminants making it ideal for demanding environments. Extended lubrication lines are standard, helping reduce maintenance downtime by allowing you to service bearings without disassembly. For even greater protection, optional motor covers and belt guards shield vital parts from the elements and debris.
- All-Welded Steel Construction
Resists harsh industrial conditions, ensuring long-term durability. - External Belt Drive Configuration
Keeps motors, shafts, belts, pulleys, and bearings out of the airstream, prolonging component life and simplifying routine checks. - Extended Lubrication Lines
Standard feature that streamlines bearing lubrication, minimizing service interruptions. - High-Efficiency Airfoil Propellers
Cast aluminum, non-overloading airfoil blades move air effectively with minimal noise or turbulence. Conventional flat blades cause excessive air turbulence which results in motor overloads and poor acoustic performance. - Multiple Motor Options
Standard (Totally Enclosed, Hazardous Location) and non-standard (Chemical Duty, 50 Hz, Arctic Duty, IEEE 841, ECM) configurations to match diverse environments. - Rugged Weather Protection
Heavy-gauge windband, curb base, and reinforced components for reliable performance in any climate. - Proven Heritage
Backed by more than 70 years of Triangle Engineering’s innovation and expertise.

- Damper Bearings: Sintered bronze-oil bushings on rustproof delrin rods, located outside the airstream for friction-free operation
- Neoprene Damper Gasket: Mounted around top of throat. Creates a damper seal, prevents freezing in cold conditions, and lessens noise as butterfly dampers close
- Lifting Lugs: Facilitate easier rigging and safer rooftop installation
Belt & Motor Arrangement
- Motor Out of Airstream: Motor, shaft, bearings, sheaves and belts remain protected from from the airstream.
- Extended Lubrication Lines (Standard): Perform bearing lubrication easily without dismantling major parts
- Self-Aligning Bearings & Balanced Sheaves: Ensures smooth belt operation, reduced wear, and extended service intervals
- Adjustable Motor Mounts: Offer precise belt tension and alignment, simplifying routine maintenance
- Quieter Operation: Belt drive system can run slower blade speeds, lowering overall noise levels
Standard Motor Types, Voltages & Controls
