Frequently Asked Questions View all FAQs
How do you order the correct replacement parts?

Before ordering replacement parts, make sure you have the fan model and serial number.

Where can I find instructions to wire a motor on my fan?

The nameplate of the motor includes a wiring diagram. Wiring diagrams can also be found beneath the motor image in our Buy Parts section. Simply click the wiring diagram icon to view it.

Can I install a thermostat?

Yes, but only if the thermostat has a simple on/off operation. Please note: if the thermostat varies the amount of voltage delivered, it will damage the motor and void the warranty.

Can I install my whole house fan vertically?

Comfort Cooler (CC) series whole-house fans may be mounted vertically, however, the AS and CSS shutters will not function properly in the vertical position. We do not carry a ceiling shutter for vertical installation. Vertical installation instructions.

MCLS Series Low Stand ManCooler

SINCE 1948.

MCLS Series Low Stand ManCooler

High Velocity Industrial Man Cooler for Continuous Duty Personnel Cooling

The MCLS Series Low Stand ManCooler is a heavy-duty, high velocity industrial floor fan engineered for continuous duty personnel cooling in demanding environments. Built for steel mills, welding bays, oil and gas facilities, fabrication shops, and manufacturing plants, the MCLS delivers powerful, focused airflow where heat stress and stagnant air impact productivity and safety.

Available in diameters from 18 inches to 48 inches with horsepower ranging from 1/4 HP to 10 HP, the MCLS Series moves up to 49,700 CFM of high velocity air. Its low stand configuration provides a stable footprint on the plant floor while projecting concentrated airflow across work zones, machinery, and personnel.

This is not a light-duty warehouse fan. The MCLS is a true industrial man cooler designed to withstand rough handling, high temperatures, and continuous operation.

Every unit is fabricated and run-tested in Arkansas and finished in a durable polyester powder coat for long-term corrosion resistance and performance reliability.

Heavy-duty welded steel construction

Thick-gauge barrels and welded rolled angle rings provide structural rigidity and resistance to vibration. Designed for real industrial environments where equipment gets moved, bumped, and repositioned.

Direct-drive industrial reliability

The propeller mounts directly to the motor shaft, eliminating belts, sheaves, and routine tension adjustments. Fewer moving parts reduce maintenance requirements and improve long-term reliability.

High-efficiency cast aluminum airfoil propellers

Precision-balanced airfoil blades generate high CFM with strong air velocity and extended throw. The non-overloading design protects the motor while delivering smooth, powerful airflow.

OSHA compliant guards

Heavy-duty guards provide worker protection, supporting safe operation in active industrial workspaces.

Continuous duty operation

Designed for extended run times in high-heat production environments. Ideal for facilities where fans operate shift after shift.

Low stand industrial base

A stable, floor-mounted base keeps the unit secure during operation while allowing repositioning as workflow changes.

Integrated lifting eye

Standard lifting eye allows safe crane or hoist placement in large facilities and industrial settings.

TE and Hazardous Location motor options

Available with Totally Enclosed (TE) or Hazardous Location (HL) motors in both single-phase and three-phase configurations to match plant safety requirements.

Durable industrial finish

Polyester powder coat protects against corrosion, plant humidity, and industrial contaminants.

Factory assembled and performance tested

Each MCLS industrial man cooler is fully assembled and tested prior to shipment, reducing installation time and ensuring performance upon arrival.

  • Aluminum blades
  • Stationary motor mounts
  • Explosion-proof motor rated as specified at time of order

Motor ratings for hazardous location configurations are as follows:

Belt Drive Models:
Single Speed, Division I, Class I Group D and Class II Groups F & G

Direct Drive Models:
Single Speed, Division I, Class I Group D and Class II Groups F & G

It is the responsibility of the purchaser and specifying authority to determine proper classification and suitability for the intended installation.

Important Safety Notice

Hazardous location models are supplied with explosion-proof motors and aluminum blades. The hazardous rating applies to the motor only.

The overall finished fan assembly is not represented as certified for hazardous atmospheres.

Application, installation, and wiring must comply with all applicable local, state, and national electrical codes and must be performed by a qualified electrician.

Hazardous location motors cannot be operated into service factor. As a result, fan performance may be slightly lower than published standard ratings.

These units are not suitable for applications where combustible residue, including paint accumulation, may collect on the motor or blade.

Triangle Engineering does not determine site classification or suitability for hazardous locations. Final responsibility for proper equipment selection rests with the purchaser and specifying authority.
