Frequently Asked Questions View all FAQs
How do you order the correct replacement parts?

Before ordering replacement parts, make sure you have the fan model and serial number.

Where can I find instructions to wire a motor on my fan?

The nameplate of the motor includes a wiring diagram. Wiring diagrams can also be found beneath the motor image in our Buy Parts section. Simply click the wiring diagram icon to view it.

Can I install a thermostat?

Yes, but only if the thermostat has a simple on/off operation. Please note: if the thermostat varies the amount of voltage delivered, it will damage the motor and void the warranty.

Can I install my whole house fan vertically?

Comfort Cooler (CC) series whole-house fans may be mounted vertically, however, the AS and CSS shutters will not function properly in the vertical position. We do not carry a ceiling shutter for vertical installation. Vertical installation instructions.

Industrial-Strength Exhaust Control for Reliable Ventilation

Keep your industrial or commercial spaces properly ventilated and help reduce backdraft infiltration with Triangle Engineering’s IWS Series Exhaust Shutters. Built for industrial ventilation needs, these shutters serve as robust industrial backdraft dampers, ensuring smooth exhaust flow while minimizing energy loss. Designed and built in the USA, they feature a welded galvanized steel frame, extruded aluminum blades, and bronze pivot bushings for low-maintenance performance, even in tough environments.

Key Benefits

  • Durability & Corrosion Resistance: A welded galvanized steel frame with a bronze finish polyester powder coating stands up to harsh conditions, making these exhaust shutters ideal for industrial and commercial settings.
  • Smooth, Low-Maintenance Operation: Bronze pivot bushings keep the shutter blades moving freely without routine lubrication or frequent adjustments.
  • Optimized Airflow Management: The extruded aluminum blades are specially designed to allow efficient exhaust flow while minimizing reverse drafts when fans are off.
  • Flexible Configuration: Choose from single or double panel models, and enjoy simple wall or fan mounting options to fit virtually any ventilation setup.
  • Proven Performance: Over 70 years of engineering expertise backs these shutters, giving you peace of mind with every installation.
  • Uniform Blade Operation: Every shutter comes with a tie bar linkage to ensure consistent, simultaneous blade movement, preventing partial openings.

Applications

  • Manufacturing & Industrial Facilities: Manage heat, fumes, and airborne particles effectively in production plants and workshops.
  • Agricultural Buildings: Ideal for barns, livestock housing, and greenhouses, where controlling airflow and humidity is crucial.
  • Warehouses & Storage Facilities: Maintain stable temperatures and help prevent outside elements from entering during non-operational hours.
  • Workshops & Garages: Evacuate exhaust or welding fumes while reducing backdrafts, dust, and debris entry.

(Note: Not recommended for grease-laden air from commercial kitchen applications.)
